Job Description

Operations Support Estimator A growing, employee-owned organization within the mechanical construction industry is seeking an experienced Operations Support Estimator to join its Preconstruction and Estimating team. This position is ideal for an estimator who wants to work closely with operations, project management, preconstruction, and project analytics to ensure estimates accurately reflect how projects will be built. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of construction estimating experience with knowledge of HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, ductwork, and/or sheet metal systems . The organization has multiple regional offices throughout the United States. Remote and hybrid arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Partner with operations to align estimates with project build plans. Evaluate labor, fabrication and field hours, staffing, production rates, materials, and margins. Perform material takeoffs for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and ductwork . Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, RFQs, change orders, and other project documents. Analyze and price changes in project scope, schedule, and logistics. Prepare change orders and supporting pricing documentation. Determine work crews and production rates for project tasks. Develop bids, estimates, scopes of work, and proposals . Identify scope gaps and ensure estimates are complete and accurate. Work with operations and project analytics to improve resource and margin planning. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, project management, and operations teams. Qualifications 4+ years of construction estimating or related experience required. Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, ductwork, and/or sheet metal construction . Experience with material takeoffs, labor productivity, production rates, and construction costs. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience developing estimates, scopes of work, and proposals. Ability to identify missing information and produce complete estimates. Experience with computerized estimating and takeoff programs. QuoteSoft or Autodesk Fabrication ESTmep experience preferred. Basic knowledge of construction accounting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word . Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
