In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and effective cost management. Your expertise will help shape project budgets, control costs, and contribute to the seamless execution of construction initiatives. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements. Develop detailed cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or similar tools, ensuring precision in material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Utilize construction management software and spreadsheets to organize estimates, track changes, and manage project budgets effectively. Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and technical drawings to determine quantities and pricing strategies. Engage in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive prices while maintaining quality standards. Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals. Review construction contracts and work closely with project management teams to ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Interpret technical drawings and construction documents accurately to assess scope of work and identify potential risks or discrepancies. Collaborate with clients during the estimation process to clarify project requirements and provide transparent cost breakdowns. Monitor market trends related to material costs and labor rates to keep estimates current and competitive. Qualifications Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within the commercial construction industry or related field. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or equivalent tools. Excellent blueprint reading skills along with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings. Solid understanding of construction management software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Demonstrated ability in managing projects as a construction estimator from initial estimate through project completion. Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, cost control strategies, and material cost estimating techniques. Effective negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors to achieve favorable pricing agreements. Construction site experience is highly desirable for better understanding of on-the-ground realities. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
