Job Description
Estimator Position Overview We're seeking a detail‑driven, analytical Estimator to play a key role in shaping the success of our construction projects. In this position, you'll prepare accurate, comprehensive cost estimates that guide project planning, budgeting, and execution. Your expertise will help ensure competitive bids, strong vendor relationships, and well‑managed project costs from start to finish. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings deep construction knowledge to every estimate. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather essential project information Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services Evaluate cost effectiveness and track actual costs against estimates throughout the project lifecycle Present clear, well‑supported estimates to management for planning and budgeting Maintain an up‑to‑date directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors Qualifications & Requirements Extensive background in construction estimating Strong mathematical and analytical skills Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints Proficiency with relevant estimating and project management software Highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing responsibilities across multiple disciplines Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent verbal and written communication skills with owners, project managers, superintendents, and office staff Ability to prepare clear reports and apply sound business judgment Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry (recommended) Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field Equivalent industry experience as an estimator will be considered Valid driver's license OSHA 30 Safety Training Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) credential preferred
