Overview Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Duct Estimator and play a vital role in shaping the success of commercial construction projects. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with HVAC ductwork systems, interpreting technical drawings, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers. Your expertise will ensure precise budgeting, efficient material procurement, and seamless project execution from start to finish. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to HVAC duct systems. Estimate material requirements, labor costs, and overall project budgets. Develop detailed cost proposals by analyzing blueprint details, managing material cost estimating, and applying current market pricing. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Utilize construction management to produce accurate estimates and manage project documentation efficiently. Assist in managing project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Review construction contracts, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure all estimates align with project scope and client expectations. Support the bidding process by preparing comprehensive proposals that include scope of work, pricing strategies, and risk assessments. Communicate clearly with project teams regarding material requirements, scheduling needs, and potential cost impacts based on site conditions or design changes. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, change orders, and correspondence to ensure transparency and accountability. Requirements Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings related to HVAC systems, and reviewing construction drawings effectively. Demonstrated ability in cost management including material cost estimating, budgeting for construction projects, and cost control strategies. Excellent negotiation skills for working with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve optimal pricing outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for data analysis) Solid understanding of contracts related to commercial construction projects; experience with managing estimation for large-scale projects is preferred. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; ability to clearly articulate technical details and project requirements. Construction site experience is a plus—familiarity with on-site conditions that impact ductwork installation or material requirements is beneficial.
