In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, and project managers. Responsibilities Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, and other construction management tools to develop comprehensive project bids. Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of commercial construction projects, including material costs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor quotes. Manage the estimation process from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Collaborate with clients to understand project scope, negotiate pricing terms, and communicate project constraints effectively. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data necessary for precise cost estimation. Monitor project budgets during execution to control costs and implement adjustments as needed for cost efficiency. Review contracts, manage change orders, and ensure all estimates align with contractual obligations. Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence for future reference. Experience Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, along with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical drawings accurately. Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating construction project budgets. Solid understanding of construction site operations and experience with construction management software systems. Excellent negotiation skills paired with effective client communication abilities to foster positive relationships. Background in managing contracts and change orders while maintaining strict cost control measures. Construction industry experience emphasizing estimation for commercial projects with a focus on cost control and material requirements from blueprints.
