Job Description

Junior Construction Estimator Department:
Sales Operations | Reports to: Sales Operations BODE, Inc. is a family-owned business with fewer than 80 employees in Londonderry, New Hampshire. Since 1975, we have provided material-handling, dock, and door solutions throughout New England. Our 4.5-day workweek includes nine-hour days Monday-Thursday and four hours Friday. Position Summary The Junior Construction Estimator prepares basic takeoffs, gathers pricing, and drafts estimates for commercial construction projects. Experienced team members provide training and guidance. Sales Operations reviews and approves estimates and proposals before release. Key Responsibilities Review plans with guidance, prepare basic quantity takeoffs, and flag unclear or missing information. Prepare basic material and labor cost worksheets using company templates and approved rates. Request vendor and subcontractor quotes, follow up on responses, and record pricing and lead times. Prepare draft estimates and proposals for Sales Operations review; update them as directed. Keep drawings, quotes, takeoffs, and bid deadlines organized; communicate missing information or delays promptly. Assist with routine sales support and occasional site visits with an experienced team member to verify measurements and conditions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is not required but preferred Construction, purchasing, or sales support experience is helpful. Basic math and measurement skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn plan reading and estimating. Basic Excel, Outlook, and computer skills. Takeoff software experience is a plus. Dependable, organized, and comfortable asking questions, following instructions, and working with a small team. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Office-based in Londonderry, New Hampshire, with extended computer use and occasional local site visits. Work requires navigating active construction sites, using required protective equipment, following safety procedures, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
