This role requires strong analytical skills, mechanical aptitude, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare accurate, timely estimates for equipment and aftermarket sales. Request, review, and compare vendor quotes for materials, components, and outside services. Research historical orders, drawings, labor data, and material costs to support estimate accuracy. Review mechanical drawings, bills of material, and specifications to identify cost drivers and required scope. Develop and maintain vendor relationships and identify alternate sourcing opportunities. Analyze cost variances exceeding 10% and summarize findings with recommendations. Maintain standard cost databases for furnaces, major components, and commonly used subassemblies. Support value engineering efforts to improve cost, manufacturability, and lead time.Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret detail assembly drawings. Experience estimating mechanical components, fabricated parts, capital equipment, or industrial systems preferred. Ability to understand tolerances, materials, manufacturing methods, and related cost impacts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with vendors, co-workers, and management. Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines. Highly organized self-starter able to manage multiple priorities and meet quick turnaround requirements. Technical degree is preferred but not required.Pay:
