Reporting to the Director of Estimation, you will be the main hands-on estimator, taking responsibility for detailed cost estimates, subcontractor pricing and bid preparation. You will work closely with the wider team to establish accurate budgets and identify cost risks throughout preconstruction. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for ground-up, multi-storey residential construction projects. Review drawings, specifications and bid documents to establish scope and identify gaps. Perform quantity take-offs and assess labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costs. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Prepare bid comparisons and scope levelling to ensure complete pricing. Develop preliminary budgets and update estimates as designs progress. Identify cost risks, exclusions, assumptions and value-engineering opportunities. Coordinate with the Director of Estimation and project teams on pricing and procurement. Maintain estimating records and communicate scope, pricing and assumptions during project handover. Requirements Minimum of seven years of construction estimating experience. Experience estimating ground-up, multi-storey residential projects. Ability to prepare comprehensive estimates independently. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, trade scopes and building methods. Experience with quantity take-offs, subcontractor pricing and bid levelling. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet submission deadlines. New York and New Jersey construction-market knowledge would be beneficial. Compensation & Benefits Base salary of $150,000-$200,000, depending on experience.
