Job Description

Millwork Estimator HRI Interior Solutions Full-Time | Hourly | $24.00 - $30.00 per hour We are looking for a detail-oriented Millwork Estimator to join our growing team. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in millwork, casework, or architectural woodwork estimating. In this role, you will own the estimating process from bid invitation through proposal — performing takeoffs from architectural drawings and specifications, pricing materials and vendor quotes, and managing bids through submission — working closely with our shop and project management team. What You'll Do Perform quantity takeoffs for custom millwork, casework, and countertops from architectural drawing sets and project specifications Review drawings, spec sections, and addenda to define the millwork scope of work for each bid Solicit and evaluate vendor and supplier quotes for materials, hardware, and finishes, and build complete cost estimates Manage bid invitations from general contractors — tracking bid dates, addenda, and submission requirements Prepare and submit proposals, and draft RFIs to resolve gaps or conflicts in the bid documents Maintain organized estimate records and support handoff of awarded projects to production Qualifications We Are Looking For Minimum 2 years of experience estimating millwork, casework, or architectural woodwork required Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, interior elevations, sections, and specification manuals Working knowledge of millwork materials, hardware, finishes, and shop fabrication methods Proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating/takeoff software Strong math skills and rigorous attention to detail Able to manage multiple bids and deadlines at once, and communicate professionally with general contractors and vendors High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications Hands-on background in millwork or cabinet fabrication Experience with takeoff software such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift Familiarity with AWI standards and quality grades Experience pricing solid surface countertops Work Environment Work is performed primarily in an office setting within our shop facility Regular time at a computer reviewing drawings and preparing estimates Occasional visits to the shop floor and job sites Company Environment Supportive team environment Training and opportunities to develop new skills 4 hour workdays on Fridays Fixed work location (unlike typical construction-based jobs with rotating sites) Standard 40 hour work week Compensation The expected pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications, in accordance with New York State pay transparency requirements.
