Job Description Job Description Job Description About DACK Consulting Solutions DACK Consulting Solutions is a growing construction consulting firm supporting technically complex commercial projects throughout the New York City metropolitan area. We are seeking an experienced MEP Estimator with estimating experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection trades. Position Overview The MEP Estimator will prepare estimates from conceptual design through GMP and hard-bid phases. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience estimating all major MEP trades , reviewing subcontractor proposals, and identifying scope and coordination issues. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection scopes. Perform quantity takeoffs using conceptual, design-development, and construction documents. Develop conceptual budgets, cost plans, GMP estimates, hard bids, and change-order pricing. Review MEP drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and bid documents. Identify scope gaps, trade overlaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, and cost risks. Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Research current labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. Develop value-engineering and cost-reduction recommendations. Present estimate summaries, assumptions, risks, and recommendations to leadership. Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and site visits. Assist with project turnover following award. Manage multiple estimates while meeting established deadlines. Qualifications At least five years of MEP estimating experience in commercial construction. Estimating experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-protection trades . Experience managing estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, materials, installation methods, and trade coordination. Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Experience performing quantity takeoffs and subcontractor bid leveling. Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or comparable estimating software. Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred. New York City construction and subcontractor-market experience preferred. Work Environment Full-time position. 100% in-office. Based in White Plains, New York.
