Job Description
A national civil contractor is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join their team in Louisville, KY . This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a background in heavy civil, geotechnical, deep foundations, sitework, or underground construction who wants to work on challenging projects and play an important role in the preconstruction process. The Estimator will develop accurate and competitive estimates for heavy civil projects while working closely with senior estimators, operations, engineering, and project management. Responsibilities Review plans, specifications, and geotechnical information while performing detailed quantity take-offs and developing project estimates Analyze project requirements, costs, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing; compile supporting bid documentation Prepare internal bid review documents and bid proposals, utilizing HCSS for cost estimating Support senior estimators on large-scale and complex projects and follow up with clients through the proposal process Participate in client meetings, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as needed Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project management to develop competitive bids and ensure successful transition of awarded projects to operations Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field preferred Experience estimating heavy civil, geotechnical, foundation, deep foundations, or related construction projects, with strong plan reading and quantity take-off skills Sound technical knowledge, strong problem-solving abilities, commercial awareness, and an understanding of construction costs Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet strict bid deadlines, and think outside the box Willingness to travel periodically for pre-bid meetings, client meetings, and site visits HCSS experience preferred, but training will be provided What They Offer Competitive compensation 401(k) with company match Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay Opportunity to work on complex heavy civil projects with an established industry leader This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimato r to join an established industry leader and contribute to challenging heavy civil projects.
