Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for a Sales & Estimating Associate to join our team and help manage the process that turns a customer request into an accurate quote and, ultimately, an order that is ready for production. This is a unique role that combines customer communication, estimating, quoting, order processing, and collaboration with our Engineering and Production teams. You will work with customer drawings and requirements, develop estimates and quotations, process incoming orders, and make sure the information our team needs to manufacture each job is complete and accurate. This is not a position where every process will be handed to you in a perfectly packaged system. Our processes have developed over time as our company has grown, and we are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, identifying gaps, and helping us build practical, repeatable systems using the tools and processes we already have in place. Responsibilities Review customer drawings, specifications, and requests for quotation. Work with Production and Engineering to determine manufacturability, cost, and lead time. Develop estimates for labor, material, and outside processing. Prepare and send customer quotations. Communicate with customers regarding quotes, drawing questions, revisions, requirements, and orders. Review incoming purchase orders against quotations and resolve discrepancies. Process customer orders and ensure all required information and documentation is complete before work is released. Work with our Paperless Parts quoting platform and help maintain and improve the information, workflows, and processes within the system. Enter customer drawings and supporting information into Onshape following order receipt. Spend time on the production floor learning how our parts are actually made and how labor, machine time, materials, and manufacturing processes impact cost. Work across Sales, Engineering, and Production to improve communication and the flow of information. Identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing processes and help develop and document practical systems and standardized workflows. Look for opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. What We're Looking For You do not need to come to us knowing everything about manufacturing or estimating. We are looking for someone who is curious, organized, comfortable working with both people and systems, and interested in learning how a manufacturing business works.
