The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure Buxton has all the required information to successfully bid and win a project. Estimators work with Project Managers, engineers, architects and owners to analyze scope and estimate the time, money, materials and labor required to complete a project. What you'll do Perform takeoffs and build estimates for power, lighting and site electrical from electrical, architectural and MEP drawings and specifications Review bid documents for gaps and conflicts, submit RFIs, and write clear qualifications and exclusions Solicit, compare and level supplier and subcontractor quotes Communicate with general contractors, engineers, architects and owners before and after bid day Price change orders during construction Hand off awarded projects to the Project Manager with a complete estimate and scope breakdown Track actual costs against estimates and apply the results to future bids Help improve our estimating processes, templates and labor units What you bring 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial electrical contractor Proficiency with Accubid electrical estimating software Solid working knowledge of the NEC Ability to read and interpret electrical, architectural and MEP drawings Comfort bidding from incomplete documents and knowing what to qualify Strong Excel skills and clear written communication Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines with minimal supervision Discretion with confidential pricing and financial information No Agency Inquiries Please Buxton Electric does not accept unsolicited resumes, candidates' names or summaries from staffing agencies, search firms, or third-party recruiters.
