Job Description

Estimator Tulsa, OK | Full-Time | Non-exempt For over 50 years, Energy Exchanger Company has engineered and manufactured custom ASME shell-and-tube heat exchangers for refineries, chemical plants, power producers, EPC firms, and industrial customers. This is a highly technical sales role. Our Estimators must read, analyze and understand customer requirements and specifications, applicable codes and standards, ASME material grades, basic mechanical design, and shop fabrication processes, aka "how our equipment is actually manufactured." Just as importantly, they must be able to turn that technical knowledge into strong cost estimates leveraging vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships outside vendors. Read and interpret customer process datasheets, mechanical datasheets, drawings, and inquiry packages Read, analyze, and correctly apply customer specifications Understand basic mechanical design calculations and how design decisions affect fabrication, cost, and performance Requisition material estimates from vendors Backcheck other estimates Develop technically sound, competitive proposals Represent Energy Exchanger Company with technical credibility, transparency and professionalism
You:
Have a high internal drive to meet deadlines and generate estimates Learn quickly, take notes, then immediately use that knowledge Respond timely to a high volume of sales requests Build relationships through competence, responsiveness, follow-up and trust Ask good questions and dig into project specifications. Be explicit about assumptions, clarifications and exceptions. Communicate timely, clearly and professionally Must be excellent about following up Our ideal candidate has experience with shell-and-tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or custom-engineered process equipment. Related Industries are Encouraged to Apply! You don't need to come directly from the shell-and-tube heat exchanger industry. We encourage candidates with experience in engineered-to-order, project-based capital equipment manufacturing and heavy metal fabrication to apply.
