Senior Estimator/Project Manager

Job Description

Overview Green Mountain Excavation LLC is looking for an experienced Project Estimator to join our team. We are a commercial excavation contractor specializing in site development, underground utilities, mass excavation, grading, and complex commercial projects throughout Oregon, Washington and beyond. We are looking for someone who understands that good estimating is more than measuring quantities. You need to understand how the work will actually be buil t , what equipment and manpower will be required, how long it will take, and where the risks are. Duties Lead the development of detailed project estimates using advanced estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring accuracy in material costs, labor, and subcontractor quotes. Interpret complex construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately determine material requirements and project scope. Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery within budget. Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive rates while maintaining quality standards. Oversee cost management throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenses, controlling costs, and implementing effective cost control strategies. Review construction management software data and spreadsheets to track project progress, update budgets, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders. Conduct comprehensive blueprint reviews and site inspections to verify accuracy of estimates and ensure compliance with design specifications. Lead client communication efforts by providing transparent updates on project costs, timelines, and potential risks or changes. Ensure all projects adhere to safety standards, contractual obligations, and quality benchmarks while managing project timelines from inception through completion. Skills Extensive experience with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other leading estimating software platforms. Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents accurately. Proven expertise in managing construction estimates for commercial projects across various sectors. Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with vendors and subcontractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis and reporting. Deep understanding of construction management software for scheduling, budgeting, and documentation purposes. Solid background in construction industry practices including contract administration, cost control, material estimating, and project management principles. Construction site experience combined with a thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and technical specifications. Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. 5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred. Pay:
$120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
