Not specified Overview System One is seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for large-scale commercial and industrial piping projects. Candidates will only be considered if they have either steamfitter field experience with necessary computer skills or minimum 5 years' proven mechanical piping estimating experience. This is a great opportunity to join a mechanical contracting and construction company serving commercial, industrial, institutional, government, utility, and energy-sector clients! Responsibilities Review project blueprints, specifications, and RFP documents. Perform detailed take-offs of piping systems and components. Calculate accurate material, labor, equipment, and tracking costs. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field superintendents. Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes. Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits as needed. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical piping estimating OR strong hands-on field experience (e.g., Journeyman Pipefitter, Foreman, or Superintendent) looking to transition to the office. Deep knowledge of mechanical piping systems, materials, and installation methods. Ability to read and interpret complex industrial and commercial blueprints. Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Autobid), in addition to Excel and Word. Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team.
