Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Lead Estimator/Engineer/Drafter to join a fabrication shop in Frackville. This role is at a job shop that specializes in heavy fabrication of one-off components and production parts for a wide range of industries. This role involves reading, interpreting, modifying and laying out drawings, and also estimating and planning jobs (material take-offs, labor estimates, etc.). Work experience building components from steel plate, beams, pipe, tube, angle, flat bar and channel with various connections and welding/machining procedures is required. Lead Estimator/Engineer/Drafter Responsibilities Drafting and estimating of industrial and material handling systems including: chutes, liners, hoppers, bins, silos, conveyors, feeders, shakers, etc Communicate with customers, take in RFQs and promote the companies products and services Utilize software programs related to shop machinery such as the plasma table, fiberoptic laser, CNC mills, press brakes in order to produce parts and components correctly and efficiently. Produce 2D and 3D fabrication drawings from customer supplied general arrangement drawings that provide adequate detail for shop employees. Measure and reverse engineer mechanical and fabricated components in order to produce accurate drawings (on-site and in the field) Apply metallurgical and fabrication principles to a wide range applications in order accurately produce drawings Estimate time and materials needed in order to produce a quotation. Lead Estimator/Engineer/Drafter Requirements Familiar with machining and fabrication practices including welding (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW), bending/forming, rolling, cutting, coping, shearing, milling and more Maintain documentation of designs, tests, and modifications in accordance with shop standards. Willingness to get dirty, learn and help in areas where needed.
