Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, vendors, sub-contractors, and project managers. Your expertise in cost management, material requirements, and construction estimating will be vital in ensuring competitive pricing and profitable project execution. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope accurately Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools Analyze material requirements from blueprints and technical drawings to determine quantities and costs Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and identifying potential cost savings opportunities Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and contractual requirements Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam, Smartsheet, and Xactimate to facilitate accurate estimating and document management Conduct construction site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights for more precise estimates Review contracts and ensure all estimating activities comply with company policies and industry standards Experience Proven experience as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry Strong knowledge of construction management software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or equivalent tools Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications Familiarity with estimating material requirements from blueprints and managing project budgets effectively Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve optimal pricing outcomes Hands-on experience with cost control techniques including material cost estimating and budget management Construction site experience is highly desirable for better understanding of on-the-ground realities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for estimating data analysis) is essential Knowledge of contracts, scope of work documentation, and construction industry standards is required Join us if you're passionate about delivering precise estimates that set the foundation for successful projects! Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
