In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Your expertise will help drive project success from initial bid through to project completion, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional results on time and within budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your construction estimating skills and contribute to impactful projects across diverse sectors. We are a multi state business so some out of town travel to Texas may be needed for a day or two to perform site walks and attend pre-bid meetings. Equipment provided for remote work. 8 hr work days Monday through Friday. 2 Years minimum experience estimating heavy civil work. Must be able to use trimble business center for all take-off's. If you do not have this experience we will not consider you for the position. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and technical documents using estimating software such as Build 2 Win, Trimble Business Center and Bluebeam. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis to ensure accuracy in bid proposals. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Prepare detailed bid packages, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and schedules for submission. Monitor project costs during execution to support effective cost control and identify potential overruns early. Assist in reviewing contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure alignment with estimates and project goals. Some travel required as needed for onsite walks. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Proficient in estimating software such as Build 2 Win, Trimble Business Center and Bluebeam is highly desirable. Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management practices. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Strong analytical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and budgeting. Effective communication skills to clearly present estimates and collaborate across teams.
