Millwork Estimator (Entry-Level)

P Job Summary :
Artisan Millworks, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Millwork Estimator to join our growing team. This is a full-time, traditional in-office position; remote work or hybrid options are not available.

In this role, you will learn to analyze architectural plans, perform digital material takeoffs, and assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for custom architectural woodwork and cabinetry projects. This position is ideal for an organized individual with strong math skills and a desire to build a career in the commercial construction and woodworking industry.
Key Responsibilities Plan & Document Analysis:
Thoroughly review complex architectural, structural, interior design, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings alongside project manuals and project schedules to identify full millwork scopes of work, coordination points, and project timelines.
Scope Identification:
Cross-reference finishing schedules, floor plans, elevations, and section details to find millwork items (e.g., running trim, paneling, cabinets, and hardware)
Quantity Takeoffs:
Utilize digital takeoff tools to perform precise measurements of cabinetry, countertops, and other custom millwork features such as ornamental trim, windowsills, wall panels, or ceiling features from digital plans.
Vendor Sourcing:
Solicit and compare pricing from material suppliers and specialty subcontractors.
Project Submittals:
Assist with the coordination of product submittals, shop drawings, and finish sample approvals to ensure accurate project handoff.
Required Qualifications Customer Service & Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, designers, and vendors.
Analytical Skills:
Excellent math and analytical skills to account for material waste, labor efficiency, and profit margins. Ability to
Multitask:
Capable of prioritizing and executing tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
Time Management:
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Software Proficiency:
Professional email skills (Microsoft Outlook) and intermediate to advanced skills with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel).
Preferred Skills & Knowledge Industry Knowledge:
Solid understanding of woodworking, cabinetry construction, and building materials.
Estimating Software:
Experience with industry-standard estimating tools like Bluebeam Revu and ConstructConnect. Benefits & Perks (Full-Time Employees)
