Job Overview Trades Exchange (TEX) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Steel & Alloy Fabrication Estimator for a full-time opportunity in Maryville, TN . This position will focus on planning, estimating, and supporting construction-related sheet metal, ductwork, and miscellaneous metal projects. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience, advanced construction knowledge, and the ability to accurately review plans, specifications, labor requirements, material costs, schedules, and project risks. This is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator who is confident working independently while also collaborating closely with project teams, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities Review project plans, drawings, specifications, requirements, and bid documents Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates at multiple stages of completion Complete quantity takeoffs and determine material pricing Estimate labor, equipment, and additional project costs Evaluate project logistics, schedules, and overall scope Identify potential project risks and cost-related concerns Review estimates and pricing with project teams Coordinate estimating efforts when multiple team members are involved Participate in pre-construction meetings with owners, clients, and engineers Communicate effectively with project teams and external stakeholders throughout the estimating process Assist with developing competitive and accurate bids for projects ranging from approximately $100,000 to $5 million Requirements Minimum of approximately 5 years of related construction or estimating experience High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED) Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred Experience estimating mid-size to large construction projects Strong knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles Understanding of sheet metal, ductwork, fabrication, and miscellaneous metal systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and technical documents Strong experience with estimating software and construction-related computer programs Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical drawing programs preferred Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines This is a local Maryville, TN opportunity offering competitive pay for an experienced estimator ready to take ownership of detailed and high-value construction estimates.
