Full Job Description Senior Estimator Location:
North Texas (McKinney / Celina / Prosper area) Position Overview The Senior Estimator is the third level in our Estimating track. This position is responsible for creating and managing estimates and jobs across residential, commercial, and industrial lines of business. The Senior Estimator will meet with clients, develop accurate and competitive estimates using Xactimate , manage projects through completion, review budgets, and communicate project progress with clients and management.
Note :
Strong Xactimate; must confidently write a full reconstruction estimate from a fire, lightning strike, or catastrophic loss; comfortable with engineering reports and complex losses; restoration/reconstruction experience strongly preferred Responsibilities Create accurate scopes with minimal over/under scoping. Create accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches using Xactimate Sketch. Maintain working knowledge of applicable building codes. Create and adhere to acceptable budgets and address overages as they arise. Follow company standards for naming estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, and related documentation. Maintain knowledge of applicable local building codes. Maintain construction schedules and coordinate with trades and management to ensure work is completed on time. Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed. Demonstrate proficiency in source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents, and deodorization techniques. Demonstrate proficiency in investigative demolition, controlled demolition, structural decontamination, cleaning, and deodorization services. Participate in continued estimating and technical training, including Xactimate training and applicable certification programs. Independently manage assigned work and projects. Maintain vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and keep vehicles clean and serviceable. Complete all required accident, injury, and incident reporting forms accurately and on time. Apply strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Maintain excellent verbal and written communication. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help establish Our Client as a world-class organization within the industry. Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. Requirements Develop and maintain local-area clientele capable of referring losses. Clientele may include insurance adjusters, community business owners, schools, municipalities, and other referral sources. Manage an estimated book of business of approximately $2M-$4M . Serve as the primary contact for owners, adjusters, and consultants. Develop project scopes, negotiate pricing, and establish agreements with customers. Prepare estimates, proposals, and related documentation according to company standards. Coordinate after-hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism. Consistently identify potential site hazards, including asbestos, lead paint, mold, and other environmental concerns. Conduct oneself professionally and courteously at all times. Proactively communicate information and respond promptly to requests for information. Apply industry TPA program standards and ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices. Work effectively under time constraints to meet specific project timelines. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding customers' property and information. Attend company-sponsored operations, safety, estimating, and technical training courses as required. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in construction, restoration, or contents estimating. Residential estimating experience on projects exceeding $50,000 . Commercial estimating experience on projects up to $100,000 . Successful completion of applicable estimating platform Level 1 and Level 2 user certifications. Successful completion of Xactimate Intermediate training. Experience with national rates and material invoicing. English literacy and fluency. Understanding of
MSDS/SDS
data sheets and their applicability to restoration and construction projects. Experience preparing estimates and proposals according to established company formatting standards. Extensive customer service experience. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and strong experience with Xactimate . Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent telephone communication skills. Ability to work effectively with coworkers, vendors, customers, adjusters, and other project stakeholders. Physical Demands Frequent lifting of more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, stand, and move as necessary to perform job duties.
