This role works closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop complete project estimates while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates from blueprints, specifications, and project documents. Develop professional written proposals and bid packages. Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members to ensure a complete understanding of project scope. Conduct site visits to evaluate existing conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimates. Solicit, review, and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best value. Prepare detailed takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment. Review subcontractor proposals for accuracy, completeness, and scope alignment. Utilize estimating software to prepare and maintain project estimates. Maintain current pricing information and update estimating databases. Assist with purchasing materials by issuing purchase orders and coordinating deliveries. Support the preparation and pricing of change orders. Obtain product specifications and cut sheets for customer-selected finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, appliances, tile, plumbing fixtures, and other materials while identifying long lead-time items. Analyze completed projects to identify estimating variances and continuously improve estimating accuracy. Provide support to project teams during construction by resolving pricing, estimate, and scope questions. Coordinate with subcontractors throughout the estimating process as needed. Recommend process improvements that increase estimating efficiency and accuracy.
