This position works closely with our Sales Managers to turn construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents into accurate, comprehensive flooring estimates. The right candidate enjoys working with plans and numbers, catches details others may miss, and stays organized while managing multiple projects and deadlines. Commercial flooring experience is preferred, but we are also interested in experienced construction estimators with strong estimating fundamentals who are eager to learn the flooring industry. Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Prepare detailed material takeoffs using estimating software and Excel. Develop accurate project estimates and identify scope requirements. Prepare RFIs when information is missing, unclear, or conflicting. Review addenda and RFI responses and revise takeoffs accordingly. Maintain accurate and organized estimating documentation. Track project and bid status and provide completed estimates to the Sales Manager. Participate in weekly estimating reviews and proactively communicate workload, deadlines, and potential issues. Stay current on flooring products, installation methods, and estimating technology. What We're Looking For 2+ years of construction estimating experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and general computer applications. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A self-motivated, collaborative, and dependable approach to work. Experience That Will Help You Stand Out Commercial flooring or other commercial construction finish-trade estimating experience. Experience working with General Contractors and commercial bid processes. Experience preparing RFIs and reviewing addenda. Familiarity with flooring materials, installation methods, and industry standards. Experience with construction estimating software, specifically Measure Square, and Microsoft Teams.
