Job Overview Lite Building Services is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our Chantilly, VA team. This role involves visiting project sites, evaluating scopes of work, preparing professional proposals, and producing accurate cost estimates. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver a professional client experience from estimate through project completion. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing. Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to evaluate project requirements. Perform quantity take-offs and identify self-perform opportunities. Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes. Develop and submit professional proposals to clients. Project Support Provide timely follow-up to client questions and clarifications. Assist project managers in transitioning awarded projects, ensuring budgets and scopes are clearly defined. Support procurement by coordinating material orders based on take-offs. Track estimate accuracy against actual project costs for continuous improvement. Communication & Coordination Visit job sites to assess conditions and validate project information. Collaborate with internal teams to align estimating, scheduling, and purchasing. Present estimates and recommendations clearly to both internal staff and clients. Qualifications & Skills 3-4 years of commercial construction estimating experience. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing. Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and digital takeoff tools. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills; client-facing experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field a plus (not required). Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
