Job Description

ELECTRICAL JR ESTIMATOR

For more information please contact us: The Jr. Estimator is responsible for preparing bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects by collecting and studying information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring what is required to successfully bid and win the project. Hourly rate commensurate with experience, If you have the qualities, above/job requirements below AND a desire to learn (with less proven estimating experience), we strongly encourage you to apply.
DUTES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Identify qualified suppliers and request quotes. Review them for completeness with plans and specifications Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including: equipment rental, tools and supplies Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents. Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree/training/associate in electrical or a related field - will train the right candidate Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems Proficiency in the use of Windows applications (Intuit Quickbooks experience is helpful) Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others Spanish a plus but not required
