Build the Quote. Understand the Process. Help Bring Projects to Life. American Custom Metal Fabricating (ACMF) is looking for a Fabrication Estimator to join our growing manufacturing team. If you have a strong understanding of metal fabrication, welding, blueprints, and manufacturing processes and enjoy turning customer drawings into accurate, competitive quotes, this could be a great opportunity for you. As a Fabrication Estimator, you'll play an important role from the very beginning of a project. You'll review customer drawings, determine materials and labor requirements, develop production routings, and build accurate estimates that help our team deliver high-quality custom metal fabrication projects. You'll work closely with our manufacturing team to make sure what we quote is practical, accurate, and ready for production. What You'll Do Review customer blueprints, drawings, specifications, and related documents Develop accurate quotes for custom metal fabrication projects Determine material, labor, setup, run time, and outsourcing requirements Calculate setup and production times based on customer specifications Create manufacturing routings and determine the appropriate processes for each job Work with production and other departments to develop accurate estimates Prepare winning quotes for manufacturing once a purchase order is received Verify job routings, materials, and applicable requisitions at the time of purchase order Review projects for potential fabrication or production challenges Communicate with internal teams to ensure quoted jobs can be manufactured efficiently Maintain accurate and organized estimating information Perform other duties as assigned by management What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has:
Experience with metal fabrication, welding, or manufacturing Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings Understanding of fabrication and welding processes Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to work independently with minimal supervision A self-motivated and problem-solving mindset Ability to work effectively as part of a team Preferred Experience JobBOSS software experience Previous estimating experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment Experience determining labor, material, setup, and machine times Experience working with customer drawings and specifications Knowledge of welding, machining, cutting, bending, and assembly processes Why Join ACMF?
