In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and refinishing a variety of flooring materials, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to transforming spaces with durable, beautiful flooring solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for skilled tradespeople passionate about building material installation and flooring craftsmanship to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine installation requirements. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and ensuring proper subfloor conditions for flooring installation. Install various types of flooring including hardwood, vinyl (LVP), epoxy floors, carpets, tiles, and other resilient surfaces using hand tools and power tools. Execute floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, and applying finishes to restore or enhance existing floors. Utilize construction estimating skills to measure spaces accurately and determine material quantities needed for projects. Follow building installation safety compliance protocols to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites. Perform restoration work including water damage repair, fixture installation, caulking, trim carpentry, and water damage restoration efforts. Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials, handling building supplies safely, and operating hand tools efficiently. Collaborate with team members to interpret technical schematics and ensure precise installation according to project specifications. Maintain a clean work area by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications Proven experience in flooring installation including hardwood floor installation, vinyl floor installation, tile laying, epoxy floor installation, and carpet installation. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings related to flooring projects. Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., saws, drills, chisels) and power tools necessary for precise installation work. Experience in building material installation with a focus on safety compliance on construction sites. Familiarity with restoration industry practices such as water damage restoration and floor refinishing techniques. Ability to interpret construction plans accurately and translate them into quality workmanship on-site. Construction site experience with an understanding of manual handling procedures for heavy or awkward materials. Knowledge of caulking techniques, fixture installation, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, buffing processes, and schematics reading is highly desirable. Previous handyman experience or general construction experience is a plus for versatility in project tasks.
