Floor Coating Crew Manager Garage Force of Greater San Diego is looking for an ambitious, hard-working person who is interested in joining our new and growing company as a full-time Crew Manager. The perfect candidate would be someone who is able to perform construction work, lead a small crew and is also interested in expanding their role and learning a wider range of responsibilities, growing their career along with the company. The Crew Manager will get their hands dirty in helping the team to install garage floors and learn the trade, training under the company owner. As part of the Crew Leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the installation of coatings to floors and surfaces. This process includes operating general construction equipment, such as large grinders, hand grinders, shop vacs, floor polishers, etc. Most of our work focuses on garage floors; however, we apply coatings to surfaces such as patios, porches and basements. Over time, the Crew Manager would take over the responsibilities for full management of the installation crews as well as learn new aspects of the business working directly with and learning from the owner of the company.
Job Duties:
Preparing surfaces by grinding floors, repairing damage, or removing old coatings Operate general construction equipment such as large grinders, hand grinders, shop vacs, floor polishers, etc. Mixing, matching, and applying coating systems and finishes to floor surfaces Hiring and supervising crew members Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner Calculating the amounts of materials and time required for each project Cleaning up supplies and equipment throughout the application process to maintain a safe and organized work environment Communicating with clients to ensure satisfaction Detailed tracking and accounting of all product, equipment, and supplies Oversee and ensure proper maintenance of equipment Learning the company's business systems and processes
Position Requirements:
Hard-working, ambitious, willingness and desire to take on additional responsibilities over time Interested in business management and growing their career Must be dependable and on-time Painting or construction background is a plus Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal/motor vehicle background check Must possess a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment Ability to travel (No Overnight Travel) Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in changing environmental conditions such as, hot, cold, humid, etc. Ability to perform physical labor for 8-12 hours a day, including working on hands and knees at times and ability to lift at least fifty pounds or more The ideal candidate will have experience in operating general construction equipment (Shop Vac, Generator, Handheld Angle Grinder, Large Floor Grinder, Painting Tools)
