Position Summary The Lead Installer is responsible for directing field installation crews while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to manufacturer specifications and client expectations. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and technical expertise. The Lead Installer serves as the on-site leader, trainer, and quality assurance representative while maintaining a productive and positive work environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership Lead daily installation crews on commercial furniture installation projects. Assign work responsibilities based on employee strengths and project timelines. Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and positive attitude. Coach, mentor, and develop installers to improve technical skills and productivity. Train new employees on proper installation procedures, safety expectations, company policies, and customer service standards. Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among crew members. Address minor employee concerns in the field and communicate larger issues to management. Conduct daily job briefings and ensure the team understands project expectations before work begins. Installation & Project Execution Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, installation drawings, and manufacturer specifications.

Install systems furniture including:

Herman Miller Steelcase Haworth Knoll Allsteel Teknion Assemble cubicles, casegoods, seating, architectural walls, filing systems, conference furniture, and accessories. Ensure installations meet manufacturer standards and client expectations. Troubleshoot installation challenges and develop field solutions when necessary. Verify project completion before customer walkthroughs. Quality Control Inspect all work before completion. Ensure installations are level, secure, clean, and free of damage. Minimize punch-list items through proactive quality checks. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Protect customer property and company equipment. Customer Service Serve as the primary on-site representative for CoronadoDC. Build positive relationships with customers, contractors, and project managers. Communicate project progress and any concerns promptly. Resolve minor customer issues professionally while escalating larger concerns when appropriate. Deliver exceptional customer service throughout every project. Safety Responsibilities Enforce OSHA safety standards and CoronadoDC safety policies. Ensure proper use of PPE. Conduct daily safety discussions with crews. Inspect tools, equipment, ladders, and lifts before use. Report safety incidents, hazards, or damaged equipment immediately. Promote a safety-first culture on every project. Administrative Responsibilities Complete daily reports, work orders, timesheets, and installation documentation. Upload required project photos. Verify inventory and materials before and after installations. Report shortages, damages, or missing materials. Coordinate with warehouse staff and project managers. Assist with scheduling and manpower recommendations when requested. QualificationsRequired Minimum 5 years of commercial furniture installation experience Previous experience leading installation crews or acting as a crew lead Certification with at least one major furniture manufacturer: Herman Miller Steelcase Haworth Knoll Allsteel Teknion Strong blueprint reading and layout interpretation skills Excellent troubleshooting abilities Strong communication and leadership skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to operate company vehicles Preferred Experience with VA (Veterans Affairs) projects Forklift certification CPR/First Aid certification OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience training and mentoring employees Experience leading multiple installation crews Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Stand, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday. Work from ladders, scaffolds, or lifts up to 12 feet . Perform repetitive lifting, reaching, and assembly tasks. Work in warehouses, occupied office environments, active construction sites, hospitals, schools, and government facilities. Travel locally and out of town, including overnight travel when required.
