New Mexico Military Institute:
The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, co- educational institution offering college preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited and prepares students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8.

Position:
Under the supervision of the Custodian Skilled Trades Manager, the Night Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining various types of flooring around campus to meet APPA Level 1-2 cleanliness standards while supporting a safe and sanitary environment. Hours of operation vary from 10:30 PM - 06:30 AM or 11:30 PM - 07:30 AM. This position performs restorative and preventative floor maintenance during off-hours to ensure floors are clean, safe, and presentable for daily operations. This role applies to professional floor care practices, equipment operation, and chemical handling techniques in alignment with established custodial and environmental services standards, ensuring quality outcomes and a safe environment for cadets, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is a non-exempt, 12-month full-time position with a pay rate of $16.82 per hour (approximately $35,000.00 annually). The job description is available upon request. Tasks:
Essential Skills:
- Perform hard surface floor restoration, including
- Knowledge of APPA cleanliness standards and custodial stripping, sealing, and refinishing VCT, terrazzo, best practices. concrete surfaces, wood surfaces, and more.
- Understanding of floor care techniques, equipment
- Apply multi-coat finishes and burnish floors to operations, and chemical properties (including pH achieve a durable, high-gloss appearance. balance).
- Perform routine floor maintenance, including
- Skill in operating and maintaining industrial cleaning sweeping, dust mopping, and wet mopping of high- equipment. traffic areas.

Qualifications:
