Job Description

Safelite is hiring an Installation Technician Trainee to learn the skills needed to install, repair, and support calibration of vehicle glass in a safety-focused, customer-centered environment. As a trainee, you'll work alongside experienced technicians in our service centers and mobile units, assisting with glass removal, installation, and cleanup while following strict safety, quality, and vehicle handling procedures. You'll interact directly with customers, documenting work and providing caring, professional service. Responsibilities Assist with installation and repair of vehicle glass in shop and mobile settings Support senior technicians with glass removal, replacement, and calibration tasks Prepare work areas, tools, and materials to company safety standards Provide courteous, professional customer service on-site and in the field Follow detailed work orders, documentation, and quality-check procedures Adhere to all safety, vehicle handling, and PPE requirements Learn Safelite installation techniques through structured training Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, tools, and workspace Required Skills Basic hand and power tool use Automotive glass installation support Vehicle glass removal techniques Calibration support for vehicle safety systems Workplace and vehicle safety practices Customer service and communication Following technical instructions and work orders Time management in field service environment Basic documentation and digital record keeping Attention to detail and quality control
