Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Glazier / Lead Storefront Installer to join our dynamic construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead storefront installation projects, work with high-quality glass and framing materials, and contribute to creating visually stunning and functional commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction, glass installation, and project leadership, ensuring each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Duties Lead and coordinate storefront installation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety protocols. Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute glass and framing installations. Handle glass materials with care, including cutting, fitting, and installing windows, doors, and custom glass fixtures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to perform precise measurements, cutting, assembly, and installation tasks. Manage heavy lifting of glass panels and framing components safely using appropriate equipment and techniques. Perform quality control checks on measurements, fitment, and finish work; ensure all installations meet design specifications. Coordinate with team members and clients to troubleshoot issues on-site; perform remodeling tasks such as trim carpentry, caulking, fixture installation, and metal stud framing as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, window installation, glass handling, and storefront or commercial glazing projects. Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices and experience working on active construction sites. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., saws, drills), power tools (e.g., grinders, screw guns), and fabrication equipment for precise work. Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately; familiar with measuring techniques for quality control. Experience with door installation, cabinet assembly/remodeling, caulking techniques, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and fixture mounting. Physical ability for heavy lifting, working at heights or in confined spaces; comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
