Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and install glass and other materials for windows, doors, and other structures
- Remove broken or damaged glass and replace it with new glass
- Install weatherstripping and sealants to ensure proper insulation and prevent leaks
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the size, shape, and type of glass needed
- Use hand tools and power tools at the job sites and in shop
- Install YKK storefront material, including doors and frames
- Repair or replace damaged window frames or sashes and be able to cut glass on site
- Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and contractors, to complete projects on time
Experience:
- Previous experience as a glazier or in a related field (e.g., frame carpentry, remodeling)
- Knowledge of different types of glass and their uses
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to glazing work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and installations
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during installation or repair work
