Fife, Washington The Install Team Leads help ensure that their team achieves its goals through providing guidance and direction to window install employees on their team. This position is responsible for making sure window installation team is running both efficiently and safely from loading install vehicles to planning install scheduling and routes and vehicle maintenance. This position reports directly to Install Manager or Field Supervisor and works closely with all installation personnel. Duties and Responsibilities Use independent judgment and exercise discretion when performing supervisory duties, evaluating employees, training employees, assigning, and distributing work to employees Establish and maintain a comfortable and safe working environment for all employees Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers Identify and respond to the need for personnel changes at the yard, and assist in hiring of new employees Holds team accountable for proper usage and care of all assets Assign overtime work consistent with Company policies Make recommendations for layoffs and recalls Investigate employee misconduct and safety violations Create and maintain a well-rounded staff through cross training, open communication, and continuing education Maintain corporate guidelines and criteria for customer service Ensure cleanliness of service trucks is maintained and holds team accountable for such behavior Respond to customer complaints and concerns Assist Driver's Safety Committee in accident investigation Enforce company Drug and Alcohol Policy Teamwork Encourages and ensures team arrives on time and prepared to work Encourages and ensures team adheres to company policies Encourages and ensures team is adaptable to change Seeks and prioritizes cross training for team Encourages and ensures team walks with purpose Accepts experienced team member's advice and feedback Flexibility to work for extended hours as needed Assists other team members with work when appropriate Helps set goals and meet company deadlines for team Focused on and encourages promoting from within Encourages team to demonstrate the extra mile mentality Allows disagreement, uses it to create discussion and ultimately consensus Creates trust in team, delegates, but doesn't micromanage Contributes ideas to make things better Assist Fleet Manager in maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-kept fleet Perform other related duties as assigned Job Knowledge Team members complete required new hire online training in timely way Participates in DDMS dispatch scheduling Proactively uses resources to seek information, partners with others in the company to solve problems Assists install techs with job site and road challenges Effectively manages outlook and personal notebook Facilitates group discussions with key members for best practices Uses inter yard transfer system, logistics, courier, etc. Attends PK's and encourages entire team to attend Enforces attendance policy up to and including creating and delivering PINS Prepares and delivers reviews Performs Performance Improvement Notices and ongoing coaching as needed Finds answers to questions and issues that are unknown Understands strength and weaknesses of everyone on team - utilizes the first and works to improve the second Helps maintain budget and expenses Communication Has relationship with all coworkers: sales, yard, management and uses those relationships to solve problems Encourages and ensures team regularly brings areas of concern in yard/store to leadership team's attention Communicates professionally to yard crew via radio Responds to voicemails in a timely manner Always answers phones promptly with professional greeting Responds to emails promptly and professionally with correct grammar and spelling Proactively and positively communicates with all audiences Reports low inventory or quality issues to purchasing team Participates in site leadership discussion/decision making Regularly gives credit where credit is dude, to the person and to management teams Never throws people under the bus, if it's a yard problem/challenge, ops lead takes ownership of the problem Consistently asks for feedback Builds bridges with purchasing and sales team to manage inventory effectively Safety Team members wear high visibility/proper uniform Reviews daily equipment inspections weekly. Ladders, etc. Maintains a comfortable and safe working environment for all employees Proactively addresses safety issues Proactively brings safety issues to the attention of proper department Yard team demonstrates consistency in following all company safety protocols First Aid and AED certified Participates on safety committee as needed Prepares necessary accident and claim reports Schedules maintenance and repair of all equipment in a timely and efficient manner Qualifications 2 years of previous experience in a similar job 1 year of leadership experience preferred High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job Must be able to type 40+ WPM Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to speak, write, and read English required Class C driver's license and must have and maintain a good driving record required Interpersonal Skills Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment. Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types. Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold. Ability and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees at a high skill level and speak effectively in front of groups. Communication can include, but is not limited to: in-person (verbal and non-verbal), written, e-mail, telephone, and public speaking to medium size groups Strong focus, planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to function independently, as part of a team, and as a leader within your own sales cohort with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Ability to think and respond quickly, positively, and professionally to constantly changing circumstances. Ability to appropriately manage stress and interact with others. Working Conditions This position works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. The working hours typically fall between a 6:00am to 3:00pm with overtime as needed.
