at Northern Insulation in Round Lake, Illinois, United States Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Insulator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various insulation types based on project needs; attic, walls, garage, sound-dampening, vapor barrier, and dense-pack systems. You'll help homeowners combat drafts, reduce energy bills, minimize noise, and prevent moisture-related issues . Duties Install insulation materials in walls, ceilings, and floors according to specifications and building codes. Perform on-site assessments to determine insulation needs (attic, batt, cellulose, sound dampening, dense-pack, vapor barriers, etc.) Measure and prep areas for insulation: remove old material, seal air leaks, and install vapor barriers. Install insulation materials to meet R-value specifications: Batt insulation in walls and floors Blown-in cellulose or fiberglass for attics Dense-pack insulation in wall cavities Sound-dampening insulation for noise control Vapor barrier installation as required Ensure proper attic ventilation and insulation transitions. Operate insulation equipment (e.g.,blowers, dense-pack rigs) safely and maintain tools. Evaluate the completed work for coverage, thickness, R-values, and proper seal. Provide customers with guidance on energy savings, moisture prevention, and noise reduction benefits. Maintain clean job sites and responsibly dispose of debris and removed materials. Adhere to safety regulations and wear necessary PPE (respirators, gloves, etc.). Communicate professionally with customers and teammates, assisting with questions and follow-ups. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Prior experience with Residential or Commercial insulation installation preferred. Familiarity with insulation materials, Installation methods, and energy-efficiency principles. Ability to read plans and understand insulation layouts. Strong attention to detail, physical stamina and comfort working in confined attic spaces. Commitment to safety, including proper use of PPE and tools. Excellent communication and customer service orientation. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
