Your Role in Our Mission As an Insulation Technician, you will work as part of a small crew performing energy-efficiency upgrades — primarily attic air sealing and blown-in cellulose insulation. You are the face of the company on every jobsite, delivering the comfort and energy savings our customers are paying for. What You'll Be Doing Complete attic, wall, crawl space, and rim joist insulation projects — blown-in cellulose and fiberglass, batts, and rigid foam Operate insulation blowing equipment and manage material setup Perform air sealing and weatherization work: caulking, foaming, weather stripping, duct sealing, vapor barriers, attic hatches, and two-part spray foam Prep and protect work areas, and remove or repair existing insulation when the job calls for it Work safely in attics, crawl spaces, and other tight areas, following all safety and PPE requirements Complete each job to the workscope, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable building and energy codes Document work with accurate job notes and before-and-after photos Clearly explain the work and the energy savings it delivers, offering honest recommendations Coordinate with the Production Manager on scheduling and logistics Keep your service vehicle and job site clean and organized Uphold company standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer care What You Need (Must-Haves) 3+ years of demonstrable residential insulation experience — attic, wall, and crawl space; blown-in, batt, and/or rigid foam 3+ years of demonstrable weatherization experience — air sealing, weather stripping, duct sealing, vapor barriers Willing and able to work in hot attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or tight areas Familiar with hand tools, ladder work, and jobsite safety protocols Able to safely lift 50+ lbs and stay on your feet through a full day Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation Able to drive and back up a trailer 18 years of age or older Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, high-quality workmanship Strong communication and customer service skills Able to work independently and manage a day's jobs efficiently Willing to assist with other home repair and home improvement projects EPA Lead-Safe (RRP) renovator certification, or willingness to complete it — required for insulation and air sealing work on homes built before 1978 Bonus Skills — Not Required, but a Plus BPI certification — Building Analyst Technician (BA-T) or Professional (BA-P), or legacy Building Analyst / Envelope Professional — or NYSERDA / weatherization program experience Blower door testing, duct blaster, or energy audit and diagnostic experience Spray foam application experience Crawl space encapsulation, ventilation, and moisture control Residential electrical, plumbing, or carpentry experience OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification Experience explaining utility rebate and incentive programs to homeowners Compensation and Benefits $28.00 to 31.00 per hour base pay (W-2 employee) Paid training in building science and energy efficiency PPE and branded apparel provided Meaningful work improving homes and helping families save energy How to Apply We review applications on a rolling basis.
