Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Mig Welder specializing in galvanneal steel to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing high-quality welding operations on galvanneal-coated sheet metal and structural components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in metal fabrication, welding techniques, and blueprint interpretation, contributing to the production of durable, precision-engineered steel products. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to manufacturing excellence and safety. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding requirements. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and tolerances before welding. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and rigging equipment safely and efficiently during fabrication tasks. Perform shop math calculations for measurements, material estimations, and fabrication procedures. Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, handling metal materials, and operating machinery. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, pipe threading, rigging, and metal fabrication tasks as needed. Adhere to all safety regulations including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OSHA standards. Assist in troubleshooting welding issues related to welding techniques or material inconsistencies. Skills Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for manufacturing and fabrication practices. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, metal materials handling, and fabrication shop operations. Experience operating cranes, forklifts, power tools, machining equipment, plasma cutters, soldering tools, and pipe threading machinery. Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites and manufacturing environments. Strong mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with basic math proficiency for accurate fabrication work. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of quality assurance. This position is integral to our manufacturing process where precision welding of galvanneal steel is essential for producing doors and frames. $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
