Job Summary MWC Group is seeking experienced Field Structural Welders for commercial, state and federal construction projects. We are looking for welders with demonstrated structural steel experience who can produce quality work in the field and work independently from drawings, welding procedures and project requirements. Responsibilities Perform structural steel welding in the field. Weld in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and welding procedures. Read structural drawings, shop drawings and welding symbols. Perform FCAW, SMAW and other applicable welding processes. Perform fit-up, grinding, cutting and related field fabrication. Inspect your own work and correct deficiencies before inspection. Work safely from lifts, scaffolding and elevated work areas. Coordinate with foremen and other field personnel to complete work efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Qualifications Current AWS structural welding certification strongly preferred. 3+ years of structural steel welding experience. Strong working knowledge of

. Ability to read structural drawings and welding symbols. Demonstrated ability to produce quality structural welds. Field structural steel erection experience preferred. Ability to work safely at heights. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Willingness and ability to travel as required by project location. Must be able to pass federal and project-specific background checks. Experience working on federal, state or other public works projects is strongly preferred. Prevailing Wage A significant portion of MWC Group's field work is performed on federal, state and other public works projects. Employees assigned to applicable projects will be paid in accordance with the applicable prevailing-wage determination and classification. Work Locations & Travel MWC Group's work is primarily located throughout Southern, Central and Northern California , with projects in other states as well. Current out-of-state projects include Oahu, Hawaii; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Fort Smith, Arkansas . Employees should be willing and able to travel and work out of town as project assignments require. Additional states and project locations may be added as our workload expands. Background Screening Because MWC Group performs federal and other secured government work, employees assigned to applicable projects must be able to pass required federal, government and project-specific background checks . Only experienced structural welders should apply.
