In this role, you will utilize your expertise in TIG welding—specifically aluminum—to produce high-quality metal components that meet precise specifications. Your mechanical knowledge, ability to interpret technical drawings, and adherence to safety protocols will ensure the successful completion of projects on time and to the highest standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment dedicated to excellence in metal fabrication. Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on aluminum and other metal materials following detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to verify dimensions and tolerances during fabrication. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols, rigging procedures, and proper handling of welding gases and materials. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving mechanical fabrication, machining, soldering, or welding to meet project specifications. Support fabrication shop operations by utilizing forklifts or other machinery for material movement as needed. Skills Extensive Fabrication shop experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in TIG welding with a focus on aluminum; familiarity with MIG welding, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting techniques. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Skilled in measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools for quality assurance. Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols while operating machinery like forklifts or press brakes; understanding of OSHA standards is desirable. Strong mechanical fabrication skills combined with excellent attention to detail for high-quality welds that meet AWS standards.
