Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Mechanic to join our dynamic fabrication and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining metal structures and equipment on construction sites and within our shop environment. Your expertise in welding techniques, mechanical troubleshooting, and blueprint interpretation will be essential to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse metal materials, utilize advanced tools, and contribute to large-scale projects that make a tangible impact. Responsibilities Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), Stick (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure precise cuts, fittings, and assemblies of sheet metal and other metal materials. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components. Fabricate metal structures by cutting, welding, grinding, and assembling sheet metal and other materials following safety protocols at all times. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance documentation. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or in fabrication shops to meet project specifications efficiently. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops involving metal fabrication and welding projects. Hands-on experience with a variety of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW, SMAW, and plasma cutting. Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other shop math essentials for precise fabrication work. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, machining equipment, and safety equipment effectively. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments is required. Prior experience working with sheet metal fabrication or mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
