Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Ironworker Foreman to lead and oversee the installation, maintenance, and safety of structural steel and ironwork on large-scale construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate teams of skilled ironworkers, manage daily operations on-site, and ensure that all work complies with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards. Responsibilities Lead and supervise ironworking crews, assigning tasks efficiently to meet project timelines and quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of structural steel components within the overall construction schedule. Review construction drawings and technical specifications to interpret design intent accurately and plan work accordingly. Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations across all activities on-site. Manage procurement of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for ironwork operations, including heavy-duty machinery and specialized tools like ohmmeters. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols; address issues promptly to minimize delays. Maintain detailed records using construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Prolog, or Construction Management platforms; prepare reports on project status and crew performance. Skills Extensive experience as an ironworker with a focus on commercial or heavy civil projects involving structural steel, joists and metal decking and Misc steel as well. Proven ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards. Strong proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting complex construction plans. Skilled in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Construction Scheduling software; capable of coordinating multiple activities simultaneously. Knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA requirements and federal safety standards; adept at enforcing safety protocols consistently. Competence in managing budgets, contracts, and procurement processes related to large steel construction projects. Excellent managerial communication skills; capable of supervising crews effectively while working with the project managers and owners of the company
