Necessary skills include; measuring, layout, MIG, TIG, Stick welding, grinding/blending/sanding as aspects of detailed finishing, as well as some patina experience. Attention to detail, and willingness to learn preferred methods is a must. In addition to shop fabrication practices, experience on a jobsite installing railings, stairs, and other architectural elements is crucial. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday. Pay is commensurate with experience, and will be discussed during interview. We offer medical insurance and one week paid vacation as benefits, with opportunities for enrollment in a matching 401k program. Standard Metal Works is an architectural metal fabrication shop in Boulder, specializing in, but not limited to railings, stairs, gates, custom furnishings, structural steel and public installations.
