In this role, you will be responsible for prepping and welding HM Doors & Frames for commercial and construction projects. Your expertise in metal fabrication, blueprint interpretation, and welding techniques will ensure that each product meets rigorous safety standards and quality specifications. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately fabricate doors and frames. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), welding to join metal parts according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math skills, and measuring tapes to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols at all times while handling power tools, welding equipment, and heavy materials on construction sites or within shop environments. Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Strong knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication techniques. Hands-on experience with welding methods such as MIG welding. Ability to operate measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for precise fabrication work. Familiarity with shop math necessary for accurate measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and machining equipment effectively. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes.
