Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aluminum Welder and Crane Operator to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding aluminum components with precision and efficiency, utilizing various welding techniques to meet project specifications. Additionally, you will operate cranes safely to handle heavy metal materials and fabricated structures, ensuring smooth workflow on the shop floor or construction site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale fabrication projects while adhering to strict safety standards and quality benchmarks. Responsibilities Perform aluminum welding using techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), following AWS standards and blueprints. Operate overhead cranes and mobile cranes safely to move heavy metal materials, fabricated parts, and assemblies within the work area. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately execute welding and assembly tasks. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math skills to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up of components. Cut, shape, and fabricate sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, machining equipment, and gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols related to welding operations and crane usage. Collaborate with team members on assembly projects, ensuring all welds meet quality standards set by AWS or ASME codes & standards. Auto Mechanic Skills a plus Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures in industrial environments. Proficiency in operating cranes—both overhead and mobile—safely and efficiently. Demonstrated skill in various welding techniques including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret fabrication instructions accurately. Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures; strong shop math skills for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes including plasma cutting, machining, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments effectively while maintaining safety protocols at all times.
