Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 6G Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced welding operations on metal materials using the 6G position, which requires working in a fixed, challenging position that tests your precision and expertise. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality welds in accordance with industry standards, contributing to complex projects across construction, manufacturing, and fabrication environments. Responsibilities Execute high-quality welding on various metal materials using techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in the 6G position. Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to accurately fabricate and assemble components. Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to ensure exact dimensions and fit-up of parts. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and efficiently for cutting, shaping, and preparing materials prior to welding. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, OSHA standards, AWS (American Welding Society) standards, ASME codes & standards, and other relevant safety regulations during all phases of work. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal fabrication, mechanical fabrication, assembly, and metal materials handling. Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and quality control measures followed throughout each project. Skills Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and site-specific protocols. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams for accurate fabrication. Skilled in various welding techniques including TIG, MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding with adherence to AWS standards. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math tools effectively for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge related to metal fabrication processes like plasma cutting, machining, assembly, and sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with power tools and hand tools essential for fabrication tasks on-site or in shop environments. Experience working with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping is a plus. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments.
