Job Description Division 5 Steel is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welder to join our fabrication team in Starke, Florida. This role requires prior structural steel welding experience and the ability to produce high‑quality welds that meet industry and company standards. This is not an entry‑level position . Candidates must demonstrate proven welding skills, blueprint reading ability, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. All candidates will be required to pass a weld test prior to hiring. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG welding (TIG experience preferred) on structural steel components Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols Fit, measure, and weld steel materials to precise specifications Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters and press brakes Perform mechanical assembly, pipe fitting, and fabrication tasks as required Follow ASME codes, company fabrication standards, and safety procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work with team members to meet production schedules and quality requirements Requirements (Experience Required) Proven experience as a Structural Steel Welder (required) Strong proficiency in MIG welding ; TIG welding experience preferred Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and weld symbols Experience working with structural steel, fabrication shops, or construction steel Knowledge of fabrication processes, welding procedures, and safety standards Familiarity with ASME codes and industrial welding standards Forklift certification preferred; crane experience a plus Ability to perform basic math and measurements Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship ✅ A weld test is required prior to hiring to verify skill level and quality standards.
