Job Description

Job Summary The Ironwork & Steel Erection Foreman is to assist to build, reinforce, and repair iron and steel infrastructures while working closely with other trades to ensure that steel components are accurately positioned, securely fastened, and meet engineering specifications. This role is physically demanding, can be performed at significant heights, and requires rigging knowledge, welding skills, and positional awareness to ensure safety. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship with a professional attitude, organized, dependable attendance, and dedicated, while having a strong work ethic and performing effectively while leading a team in a demanding environment. Full time out of town travel will be required with this position. Key Responsibilities Blueprints, Schematics, and Work Orders
  • Read and understand structural steel drawings, erection plans, and layouts to understand project requirements. Training and Mentorship
  • Provide hands-on instruction, mini classes, or on-the-job coaching to improve skills and performance. Help recruit, train, and retain quality employees. Communication
  • Communicate effectively and create an encouraging, respectful atmosphere that encourages questions and motivates employees to perform.
Provide daily/weekly updates, explain project goals, and ensure clear, respectful communication with all team members. Safely unload, stage, and organize structural steel and materials. Perform layout, measurements, and field adjustments as needed. Build, Reinforce, and Repair Structures
  • Participate in the assembly and installation of structures and frameworks.
o Connect and secure steel beams, columns, joists, decking, and other structural members. o Bolt and install steel connections as directed by drawings and specifications. o Set and plumb columns and structural members. o Install metal decking, stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous steel. o Assist with cutting, grinding, and other field work when required. Tools/Equipment
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently using hand and power tools, and rigging equipment properly. o Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. o Work safely from lifts, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms. Learning and Growth
  • Willingness to learn to improve and build upon current skills while completing assigned work accurately, efficiently, and according to project schedules. Safety Standards
  • Monitor and follow all company, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements including using harnesses and protective gear. o Identify potential safety hazards and report them to management. o Rig and signal loads for cranes and other lifting equipment. o Respectful communication with all team members. Quality
  • Support quality control by inspecting work for accuracy and completeness.
Report any hazards, equipment issues, or incidents to management. Enforce OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, ensuring 100% safety for all employees. Handle any other duties as assigned that are required by the business. Required Skills and Competencies Good physical strength, stamina, and dexterity for lifting, handling, and precise assembly work. Possess strong leadership skills and communicate effectively. Structural steel erection, rigging, bolting, welding, layout, aerial lifts, and fork lift experience required. Strong work ethic being available to work 12-hour shifts, 6-7 days per week, meeting project schedules. Be willing to work outdoors, at heights, and in varying weather conditions. Working effectively as part of a team having honesty and integrity. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for on-the-job travel. Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards. Ability to pass background checks and random drug tests.

$25.00
