9584556-30707 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusive elementary classroom setting. This engaging position runs from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, including valuable pre-planning days to set your students up for success. The role is full-time, averaging 37.5 hours per week, in a nurturing environment dedicated to making a positive impact. Youll collaborate with fellow educators to deliver individualized support to a small caseload of approximately 8-10 elementary students, primarily in 1st and 2nd grades, with some Kindergartners. The classroom emphasizes inclusion and fosters development in children exhibiting a range of learning profiles and behaviors, including autism, significant developmental and speech/language delays, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities. While toileting or diapering is not required, occasional supervision is needed for a student with a toileting goal.
Ideal Experience and Credentials:
Current and active GaPSC Teaching license, including
P-12 SPED
endorsement and Dyslexia endorsement (required) Demonstrated experience working in inclusive or special education environments Prior involvement with PreK-2nd grade age groups preferred Strong skills in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), differentiating instruction, and supporting students with diverse learning needs Positive, patient, and collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues
