LOCATION

Kona, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

: Welding experience in a shop or field environment (any process considered: TIG, MIG, Stick, Flux-Core). Ability to read and follow fabrication drawings/plans, shop sketches, and basic dimensions. Aptitude with experience using common fabrication equipment for layout, measuring, cutting, drilling, and material prep. Proficiency with standard hand/power tools (grinders, drills, saws, clamps, squares, etc.) and safe tool operation. Understanding of fit-up, joint prep, and weld sequencing to minimize distortion and ensure quality. Comfortable working with a team, taking direction, and communicating clearly about job status and issues. Commitment to jobsite/shop safety, including proper PPE and safe material handling. Ability to lift and move materials as required for fabrication (reasonable accommodation available). Reliable transportation and punctuality.

QUALIFICATIONS

: TIG welding experience. Aluminum TIG (AC TIG, cleaning action control, heat management). Stainless steel TIG (clean weld appearance, heat control, minimal discoloration). Experience welding thin-wall tubing, sheet, and architectural/finish-critical components. Ability to produce clean, consistent welds appropriate for visible architectural work. Familiarity with stainless finishing (blending, polishing, grain direction) and basic cosmetics/cleanup. Experience working with fixtures/jigs and maintaining tolerances for assembled parts. Basic understanding of metals and material behavior (heat input, warping, contamination control). Prior experience in metal fabrication beyond welding (cutting, notching, coping, drilling patterns, tapping, hardware install, etc.). Comfortable working independently from plans with minimal supervision once trained on shop standards. Reliable transportation.
